“Paris is always a good idea.” Audrey Hepburn

I have heard Paris is a place you either love or hate, I guess it depends on the type of surroundings you prefer. Every time I go I find new exciting streets, even better cafes and of course the best wine!

Paris is one of the only cities in the world you should get lost in, explore the city by foot and you will find the real hidden gems. One day we walked 20km and for me, that is a lot. If it is your first time in Paris you should start at the Notre Dame Cathedral, from there you can walk to the Louvre and through the main park which will bring you to the Champs-Élysées and the Arc De Triomphe.

If you are looking for great boutiques, bars and restaurants then you might like to base yourself out of the fashion district. Located in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, the fashion district is full of life and quit close to the Louvre.

The first time I visited Paris I was determined to experience a traditional French meal. I didn't want to rely too much on Trip Adviser because you will never find the best local food. I also talk to the locals to discover the best places to eat and drink.

This is how we discovered Café Chez Camille on our first trip to Paris in 2012, a tiny bistro over 100 years old. Chez Camille serves up the most delicious, traditional French cuisine including Foie gras, duck and creme brulee.

Must Do's:

1. Spend your first day exploring, get lost.

2. Buy local cheeses, wine and macaroons and sit under the Eiffel Tower to watch the lights.

3. Go to the top of the Arc De Triomphe, in my opinion, it has a better view than from the top of the Eiffel Tower, but experience both.

4. Visit the Palace of Versailles.

5. Sit in a bistro with a wine and people watch.

No matter how many times I visit, the city always offers something new and beautiful!

Remember Paris is always a go idea!
